2009 BEGINS WITH NEW AD CAMPAIGN
FOR FBC
Executive Producer Ty Wood, Jr. and Producer Deanne Carter from the Media
Services Department of the Florida Baptist Convention sat down with the creative
team at Spectrum Films to produce a television campaign for the New Year. The
campaign entitled “PRAY” will promote prayer through inspirational sights and
sounds to be viewed throughout Baptist Churches in Florida. Working with Senior
Editor Stuart Neal and the graphics department consisting of Burton Staszko, Dan
Darty and Effie Mitsios, the initial :90 second video was created using stock
images, layered and rotoscoped to create a 3D camera illusion. The images were
then set against a backdrop of bold music with thought provoking text.
Appropriate to current affairs, the premiere spot focuses on the upcoming
inauguration as well as issues that parishioners face on a daily basis. The
Florida Baptist Convention desires for people find answers through prayer and
asks that we as Americans pray for all our civic leaders- nationally and
locally- this upcoming year.

FirstAtlantic Bank: Branding Campaign
FirstAtlantic Bank, a locally headquartered financial institution in
Jacksonville, Florida, chose Spectrum Films to assist in the creation of an
image branding campaign. Founded by a group of successful likeminded business
professionals, FirstAtlantic Bank has one goal in mind: To provide the
Jacksonville area with better banking.
As a new and unknown financial institution, FirstAtlantic Bank sought a
marketing relationship with a firm who understood and appreciated the goals and
principles that the bank was founded upon. Spectrum Films, Inc. immediately took
the vision of the founding members and translated it into action. Spectrum
designed an image campaign involving traditional forms of advertising such as
web and outdoor media to target a broad consumer base with creative concepts
showcasing the personal approach to banking offered by FirstAtlantic Bank.
Spectrum realized that with any new banking venture, there would be obstacles to
overcome in order to break into the marketplace. Recognizing this, yet confident
that FirstAtlantic offered a unique and refreshing style of banking to the
consumer, Spectrum developed a very unique and stylized marketing book compiled
of client testimonials and documentary styled photography about their
experiences with FirstAtlantic Bank. The goal of the book was to show potential
new customers in the area that business owners and community organizations
similar to themselves have benefited from a superior combination of personal
service and technology offered by FirstAtlantic Bank. Spectrum specifically
designed this campaign with maximum longevity involved for the bank. This
branding strategy will remain strong for several years.

FBC Story
Staying on the cutting edge of ministry, 1st Baptist Church of Jacksonville has
led the national trend of utilizing video to get the message out. And recently,
Senior Pastor Dr. Mac Brunson turned to Spectrum to tell a very compelling
story. While developing his 4 week series on Making Your Life Count, Dr. Brunson
learned of a very heartfelt story within the congregation that would be the
perfect illustration for the segment "Making Your Marriage Count." "I received a
call from Communications Director Gina Ford, and immediately began to see the
video in my mind as she spoke," said Producer/Director Gary Hackney. "It was the
story of Robert and Jeannie Vest and their 60 year marriage, and a very unusual
level of love and commitment."
Jeannie had to be put in a nursing home 5 years earlier due to severely advanced
dementia. But Robert rises every morning at 4 a.m. to do his morning devotions,
then takes a shuttle van and 2 buses so he can spend the day with his beloved
Jeannie. Then after feeding her breakfast and lunch, reading to her, telling her
how everyone is doing, he takes the 2 buses and shuttle back home. It's a 9 hour
day, and he has done this every day for five years, even though there is no
responsiveness from Jeannie. "Dr. Brunson wanted to have a 4 minute video
to end his sermon on devotion and dedication to marriage, and he saw this as a
perfect illustration," said Hackney. "The story tells itself, but it was a labor
of love to creatively guide it along."
